A Wet Scrubber is an air pollution control system that uses liquid to remove contaminants from a gas stream.
Removal is achieved by bringing the gas stream into contact with the scrubbing liquid, which facilitates mass transfer of the contaminants into the liquid. As the water recirculates, fresh water purges contaminants and replaces evaporation losses. Fresh water may be added to the recycle continuously or periodically.
Wet air scrubbers are particularly effective in removing PM that is:
Tri-Mer Corporation is a technology leader in air pollution control, offering both dry and wet solutions to air pollution challenges.
Tri-Mer’s broad spectrum of wet equipment includes the Whirl/Wet dust collector, packed-bed tower scrubbers, crossflow scrubbers, chrome scrubbers, and the Tri-NOx Multi-Chem system for removal of NOx on applications involving low temperatures and high removal efficiency requirements.
Tri-Mer’s Catalytic Ceramic Filter system – UltraCat – is the premier dry system for simultaneously controlling multiple pollutants, including PM, SOx, and NOx. UltraCat ceramic filters are embedded with nanobits of NOx or VOC catalyst dispersed within the filter walls. Particulate (PM), SO2, HCl, metals such as chrome-6, and NOx are removed by this single, all-in-one system.
Tri-Mer has one of America’s largest fabrication facilities for PVC, polypropylene, and other plastics. Custom fabrication projects include process tanks up to 100’ in length, ventilation, ducting, workstations and enclosures.
The Whirl Wet Dust Collection system works by infusing the dust particles with water. The unique process mixes the two through a fixed-position dual-opposed blade system. Once the dust-laden airstream and liquid are mixed, a tangential airstream is injected through the lower blade assembly to increase turbulence. After which the rotation is accelerated, droplets in the airstream are processed through a mist eliminator located downstream, and particulate material is deposited on the bottom of the unit for recovery or disposal.
Crossflow industrial scrubbers maintain stack emissions to specific ppm levels for all input concentrations.
Key to the performance of this system is high liquid flow recirculation, which provides intense contact between the contaminant and scrubbing liquid.
Applications include a broad range of manufacturing and process industries; semiconductor, metal finishing, and chemical industries generating corrosive fumes and gases also benefit from Crossflow technology.
