Dust Collection & Ventilation System Design

Determining the type of dust collector, ductwork sizing, required airflow and static pressure in the dust collection system depends upon a number of design factors. The first step is to determine the type of dusts the plant operations create, including welding fumes and machining lubricant mist. The system must be designed to maintain a safe working environment for employees including air quality, slip and fall hazards due to lubricant mist and explosion mitigation for explosive dust combinations.

Customized Design Solutions

Designing a dust collection system requires an experienced design team to consider several factors in the design of a new installation and even more complex considerations when adding to an existing system.

We take into account things like plant layout and obstructions, types of materials being handled, requirements for air-makeup systems, types of filtration required and likely process additions to the factory. Our experience in dust, mist and fume collection, and indoor air quality systems is why we are leaders in this industry.

3D Modelling of Design Solutions

One of the tools we use to make calculations for collection or indoor air quality systems is SolidWorks 3D Modelling software. Using our comprehensive library of solid parts, this design software allows us to generate 3-dimensional models of the proposed system. These 3D models are conceptual and help the designers, manufacturers, clients and installers to have the same vision of the completed project. This level of detail in the models helps streamline the system installation process .
